Question Instinctive Shooting?

I hear a lot about "INSTINCTIVE" shooting lately. I even hear bow shooters talking about it. But mostly I hear it from the "point shooters" on how to use WWII methods like Applegate and others. So, what is "instinctive shooting" anyway.

I think our friend South Narc said it best:

"You can instinctively drown in a pool of water of you don't know how to swim."

Unlike most animals, swimming for humans is not natural. For us, swimming requires a certain amount of technique. The better the technique, the better the swimmer.

The same holds true for handgun shooting. The handgun is the hardest firearm of all to master. If you want to learn to shoot good, learn from a good shooter.

FIST-FIRE is based entirely on the proper execution of technique. Technique that is totally bio-mechanical, not instinctive. The FIST-FIRE technique is based upon the science of proper gripping, indexing and presenting the weapon for repeatable results each and every time...
