Do I understand correctly that one of the ways to index the gun on the target quickly with FIST-FIRE is to point the thumbs at it? This using a high thumbs grip. So, what about shooting a revolver? I always curl down at least my strong hand thumb, although, I can point my week hand thumb at the target to help get the revolver pointed that way.
How do YOU handle the revolver grip?

For years now, people have been asking me why I don't allow "REVOLVERS" in my Fist-Fire Classes. And for years I have been telling them that the "Revolver" is NOT the right tool for the job... :(
Consider the fact that Jerry Miculek (the World's Greatest Revolver Shooter) uses a modified WEAVER STANCE when he shoots a revo. Now, how do we improve on that?
Now, bear in mind that I grew up on REVOLVERS and my very first handgun was a revolver and I shot and carried them for years in Police Work and used them in PPC and Combat Shooting competition.
Bill Jordon, Author of "No Second Place Winner" was my hero (I even wore a Jordan Rig on Duty for years) and I truly do LOVE the revo's in both Single and Double Action...
But as far as the FIST-FIRE Technique goes, I have been saying for YEARS that,
"Fist-Fire doesn't work with Double Action revolvers, only Single Action revolvers. The modern day Cowboy Action Shooters are using the Reverse Weaver along with the Indexing methodology that we teach in FIST-FIRE with great success."
Further, the proper "FIST-FIRE" technique for gripping an AUTO PISTOL is entirely different than gripping a revolver. They are two completely different animals, and I for one don't like getting "bit" by the exhaust coming out of the cylinder gap on the big bore revo's. While it's not bad with a .38, the .357 stings and then there are the BIG BORE MAGNUMS which can hurt you. Case in point:

Enter the .460 S&W Magnum. NO I have never shot it, don't want to shoot it and have refused the offer to shoot it many, many times (just hit me in the hand with a hammer instead! ;) ).

And here's someone trying to grip a BIG BORE Revolver like they would and auto...

And, Wallah! "LOOK MA, NO THUMB!!"
