View Full Version : Hand over the ejection port?

I saw on the old forums where some guys had trouble (accidental discharges and explosions) when they unloaded with their weak hand over the ejection port while trying to catch the empty round as it came out. :(

My question is about the 'overhand rack' used to charge the weapon? Is this an OK practice or what?

We were taught that way back in the day...

When you unload, roll the gun over on it's side (ejection port down) and rack the slide back with the off hand, catch the cartridge in the palm of the off hand, and then then push the slide lock lever up.

Well, I've seen quite a few "KABOOMS!" happen over the years.
