Lot's of talk out there about Fist-Fire being a 'competition only' shooting method. Thoughts, anyone?

Name one thing about FIST-FIRE that is competition only?? Show me just one thing from the FIST-FIRE Book which has been out since 2002, just one thing?

Even the top shooters say that the FIST-FIRE "Combative Drawstroke" is too slow:

But what they don't understand is that we are setting up for a block or a strike with the off hand.

Folks just don't know what they don't know...:o

I was just over on the www.defensivecarry.com forums. Every time someone mentions the "F-Word" (FIST-FIRE! ) the thread gets closed. And there was no bashing or anything, the guys who were posting were happy with the DVD's and others were interested in what works. Go figure.

Some Old School trainers have actually told me that they can't argue with the logic behind the Fist-Fire system, nor can they dispute the results. And they were honest enough to admit to me that they are just, "too damn old to change" . And I'm totally cool with that...

But others cringe at the very word, "FIST-FIRE" Why? Because it ROCKS THEIR LITTLE WORLD. They are stuck in the old school dogma of yesteryear. They can't shoot and they're too damn stubborn to change. So, instead of evolving they make up "Tactical Excuses" in order to justify their poor shooting performances. Sad, but true. :(

Bottom Line: Martial Arts have evolved more in the past (30) years than they have in the last 3,000. Combative Pistol Shooting is evolving, too. So, if you want to stay back in the 1970's with Jeff Cooper, and that's fine. But the rest of us are moving ahead into the 21st century.

DR, Why do you feel as if your system is the ONLY system out there? And why do you feel it's the ONLY way to go?

I believe it's the ONLY COMPLETE system out there. It is truly the evolution of modern shooting technique, and it's a proven winner.

It evolved out of the "primordial soup" of pistol competition and Force on Force training over the last 30 years. Now, couple that with modern martial arts fighting techniques and you have a complete system of shooting and fighting called FIST-FIRE.

And if there is something better out there, I've yet to see it. Seriously, if you can sow me a better way to pull a trigger on a fighting pistol, I'm all for it.

I've noticed that lately in the gun mags and some books I see people using the fist fire grips and reverse weaver and reverse chapman but the articles never mention the stance etc.. unless it's one of the older stances.

Perfect example Kyle Lamb, in his new book

Yeah...most people don't know what they are looking at...

Even the Gun-Rag writers (the so called experts? ), HELL, even they don't know what they are looking at...:o

Sad, but true... :(

I sent a copy of my FIST-FIRE Book to Dave Anderson (American Handgunner Magazine column writer who is writing ALL the handgun grip articles as of late) way back in 2002. He's a great guy, he actually wrote us up (Me, Barb and Daniel Horner) when we swept the American Handgunner Match (which is the World "Man vs. Man" Shoot Off Championships) back a few years ago.

You'd think he'd have read the FIST-FIRE book I sent him by now (WITH ALL THE PICTURES)...

Oh, well...

Those who seek the TRUTH will find it.

Hey DR! There's a guy on You Tube who has taken you up on the "FIST-FIRE Challenge" and is showing his stuff!

Here is the link:

Now, What do you say to that?

:DYeah, that's old news...

The guy is CLEARLY looking down the flat Glock slide, setting the round plate on top (in place of the front sight) and taking his DIRT SLOW time to shoot. :o

Pepper Poppers? Hell, they allow for vertical stringing. But check out my hits on DVD-1 on the 75 yard poppers!

I'd like to get this little prick on range sometime and shoot for money!!

I'd even prefer to do in low light/no light.

It's like saying, "Yeah, I can do what Dale Earnhardt did at Daytona" and but then only go 55 MPH.
