I had the chance to shoot about 45 rds through a Sig Sauer P229 Elite today. Very nice gun; now I remember why I used to slobber over Sigs in days past. The benefits of the new Short Reset Trigger were clearly evident. The double action trigger pull was very light and smooth, and the single action trigger was rather light and crisp. I remember Sigs as having decent triggers, but these trigger pulls were even better than anything I can remember - except perhaps my wifes customized P225. I found the rather fat double stack grip provided a nice purchase on the gun. I didn't like the rosewood grips too much, since they are very smooth and don't offer much traction. The rosewood grips do look pretty however. I fired this gun after shooting my Kimber Aegis, and I could feel the slightly higher bore to grip relationship in the Sig. It wasn't a problem however, since the Sig functions extremely smooth all around, and the new beavertail on the Elite aided in getting a nice high, firm grip. To say it again, this really is a very nice gun.
