Yeah I saw that a little while back.

It's amazing what you can do when there is a little stress...and a lack of training.

Still...that's pretty stupid.

No John, I'd have to say putting the mag in backwards is like WAY stupid. More like, put the freakin' rifle down you stupid bitch. I was told recently by someone that trains police officers something that I've suspected but did not know for sure until told by someone in the know.

Did you guys know that female police officers are permitted to go straight to the gun for any kind of altercation, arrest etc. because of their lack of strength etc.? This does not fill me with confidence especially considering nit-wits like the police officer pictured above.
I'm going to catch flack for this but because of that and other reasons. Women should NOT be police officers that are involved in any way with physically restraining ANY man. They should not be foot soldiers for the same reason. Call me a chauvanist or whatever. I've seen some incredibly stupid things that have happened as a result.

No I agree... way freaking stupid.

The only way I can imagine someone doing that is that if someone just handed them a rifle they had ZERO training on and adrenaline overwhelmed basic common sense.

But there's no way a PD would hand an M4 to an officer that had never seen/used one before...would they?

I mean THAT would be stupidity of LEGENDARY proportions.

Ya know, I just thought of something John, knowing most cops as I do and their extreme tendency toward playing practical jokes.......I can see a bunch of guys in the background knowing the press was there taking pictures..."here sweetie take this rifle and point it at the bad guys"....just busting out laughing. Get the picture? And even more so a bunch of em in the squad room falling out over this photo. Now I feel a little (not much) sorry for the girl.:D

After reading the text I can say with all certainty that anyone that sustained a gunshot wound in that particular gunfight did not receive it from that rifle! It appears from the popped trunk lid of the cruiser that she showed up on scene, went around grabbed the rifle, shoved the mag in (backward) and hopefully thought to rack a round in the chamber, and STILL did not feel/catch/notice her mistake. I'm guessing the rifle would be in her trunk unloaded and she had to load it. She makes that dept. look like poorly trained smucks. Guns are really hard for some people, and those people shouldn't be cops that aren't behind a desk.

Great example of how NOT to use cover properly, too!
