I'm thinking about buying a Glock for personal defense as well a home protection. But I'm concerned about the so called "Safe Action" aspect as it has NO external safeties. So, why is it called "SAFE ACTION"

Where do you get that firearms are "safe"? What makes an external safety any safer than an internal safety. Other than one more switch that tells the gun "yes I really do want you to fire, I'm not kidding this time...go bang."
It's shooters that are safe. An unsafe shooter will not put his weapon on safe or will take it off inadvertently even with an external safety. Does that make him safer? or just feel like he's safer? Which is better?
Observing rules and using your brain are far "safer" than a mechanical gizmo on the gun.
That said I'd argue Glocks technically do have an external safety.

An ingenious solution to a non-existent problem... :o
How in the world did we ever get by without mechanical safeties on our S&W Duty Revolvers all those years, anyway??
Technically, the Glock has three safeties. I carry one inside my pants (appendix position) all the time. And yes, it's sometimes it's pointing and the family jewels. Just remember:
"Keep your booger hook off your bang switch" until it's time to shoot.
