I saw a picture of a custom Glock with what looked like a beavertail molded into the backstrap of the gun?? Seemed like a good thing to have, maybe? Pros? Cons?

I think if you had REALLY BIG MEATY hands it may keep the slide from biting the web of you hand but other than that I can't see the sense in it.

An ingenious solution to a non-existent problem...

As far as the Glock beavertail goes, I held one customized by Robar (I think) and it felt pretty good. Wouldn't it [the extended beavertail] spread the felt recoil around in your hand?

If you had big mitts, it MIGHT (and I emphasize might) be an improvement.

And no a beavertail will NOT mitigate recoil.

John's right, on a Glock, the beavertail is already wide enough to spread the recoil around in the web of your hand...

One of the big advantages of the Glock is the high grip to bore axis hold, adding a beavertail doesnt do much but eliminate that advantage.

How about one that just comes back to the rear, sorta like the M&P does?

does anyone get slide bite from a Glock ? I have never heard that complaint, I just dont see the point of spending money on something that does nothing.

I've never been slide-bit but then again I'm not the best person to judge.

I've never even been hammer-bit by a 1911 using the old grip safety.

We have a local shooter that many of you know that shoots a Glock 21 (not SF). He is a huge man with big fleshy hands and gets bit regularly. He has enough flesh piling up in the web of his hand and hanging into the slide path to benefit from a beavertail add on. There are all kinds of hands and some of them could benefit from this but I think for most stock is fine.
